Sierra Phan (She/They) is a Chicago-based actor with a BFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University, a graduate from Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts in Drama and the Commonwealth Theatre Center of Kentucky. She was born and raised in Kentucky. Her father is African American, and her mother is first-generation Vietnamese and white. Inspired by the cultural vibrancy of her working class upbringing and love for storytelling, she moved to Chicago to pursue the art of acting.Her work spans theatre, commercial, and film, including classical and contemporary productions as well as short films. Some of her Theatre School at DePaul work includes productions such as Dance Nation, Polaroid Stories, A View From The Bridge, A Wrinkle in Time, A Long Time Since Yesterday and others. Other Theatre credits include: Macbeth (Hoosier Shakespeare, Regional Tour), Frindle (Griffin Theatre, National Tour), At The Vanishing Point (The Gift Theatre). Additional staged readings include: The Playgrounds (Congo Square), A Satisfied Mind and I Didn't Think You Would Be Happy (Victory Gardens). Commercial credits include projects for T-Mobile, Giordano's, Walgreens, and more. Her training includes movement-based performance, scene study, improvisation, voice and dialect work, and stage combat. In addition to acting, Sierra has experience in classical violin, bluegrass improvisation, and acoustic guitar. She continues to pursue work in theatre, film, and new collaborative projects. She strives to bring soul, honesty, joy and vulnerability to each project she's part of.
